'Wooden Ships & Iron Men' Board Game

‘Wooden Ships & Iron Men’ is a classic Avalon Hill naval war game set in the ‘age of sail’, covering the American Revolution and the Napoleonic era.
Every type of ship that saw action between 1776 and 1815 is represented.
The game comes with a large generic ocean map overlaid with a hex grid. The ship counters occupy two hexes and include special rules for moving and firing. Simultaneous hidden movement recreates the unpredictable events naval battles of this era.
Rules are included for boarding, melee, drifting, collisions, weather, different ammunition types…and even exploding ships!
The game includes 27 scenarios, including the battles of Trafalagar and the Nile.
Players can begin with the smaller scenarios and basic rules, and work up to whole fleets and the advanced rules.
The game that we currently have for sale, pictured on this page, is complete and in superb condition. The game is unused and none of the counters have been removed from their card sheets.
