'Speed Circuit' Board Game
Vintage Formula 1 Motor Racing Game by Avalon Hill - 1971
![]() |
‘Speed Circuit', made by Avalon Hill, is a vintage Formula 1 motor racing board game which includes all the features of 1970's Formula 1 motor racing.
The game is essentially a more advanced version of Waddington's classic 'Formula 1' board game, originally published in the 1960's.
'Speed Circuit' uses the same movement rules (i.e. no dice) but also adds some more realism in terms of tyre and engine wear, and the option for players to allocate 'Wear Points' to their car as they see fit, giving the car better acceleration (at the expense of durability) or better cornering (at the expense of outright speed).
The game with a four-piece mounted board which includes three circuits - Monza, Monaco and Watkins Glen.
