Description:
'The Garden Game' is a delightful board game, originally published in 1980 by Sarah Ponsonby, which combines a gardening theme with beautiful components.
The large board, which makes up the garden, is part of the briefcase-style box. The 'seed' cards, which have lovely illustrations of each plant or flower, are stored in the concealed 'Seed Cupboard', and the playing pieces are all made of solid metal.
in addition to being a great family game, the game is very educational for children and a great way to introduce them to the joys of gardening. Points are scored for planting your garden, which is done by means collecting sets of cards. The cards represent the seeds that you plant in your garden, and contains 64 different flowers, herbs, fruits etc.. The cards are actually 'planted' in the furrows (grooves) on the board. Various events, like the weather and garden pests, can disrupt the best-laid plans.
