'Escape From Colditz' Board Game

'Escape From Colditz' is a classic strategy board game, devised by Major Pat Reid, who escaped from the infamous Colditz Castle in World War Two.
Players either play the prisoners, from various nationalities, who are trying to escape, or the German guards. Escapees must hide the correct items of escape kit and make a break for freedom before being spotted and captured by the guards.
The game we currently have for sale, pictured on this page, is a first edition from the early 1970's.
Apart from some storage wear to the box (rubbing to the edges and wear to the corners), the game is in excellent condition and appears to have only been used a few times at most.
The game is complete with all of the original components.

The game is complete, with all of the original cards, rules and wooden playing pieces, all of which are all in excellent condition.
All components are in 'near mint' condition. The cards are still crisp and smooth, the wooden coloured pawns (men) are bright and shiny, and the board is unmarked on the playing surface. (There are a couple of small 'mottling' marks on the underside but this is present on nearly all of these boards. It is believed to be an age-related issue with the colour die used to colour the underside of the board).
The box has some wear - rubbing to the edges and and some wear to the corners - but is in good useable condition. Two corner seams have been neatly reinforced with clear tape. The box inner is undamaged and has virtually no wear.
