Description:
This vintage wooden jigsaw puzzle depicts the famous 'Cornish Riviera' express steam train in GWR colours. It is one of the classic series of GWR (Great Western Railway) wooden jigsaw puzzles made by Chad Valley in the 1920's and 1930's.
This particular puzzle dates from the late 1920's or early 1930's and was one of the most popular puzzles in the series. The puzzle features the Cornish Riviera express train pulled by the Abbotsbury Castle steam engine.
Interestingly, the edges of the puzzle are not straight but form a wavy line (see picture above).
The jigsaw puzzle we are selling, pictured on this page, is complete and in excellent condition. The colours are still vibrant and fresh.
The puzzle comes complete with its original box.
