'Commonwealth Trader' is a nostalgic vintage board game, published by Geographia in the 1930's. It was a development of the 'Touring' series of 'destination' games which became very popular.
At the beginning of the game, each player is dealt random cards which denote the destinations, spread around the countries of the British Commonwealth, that they must visit and trade with, before returning to London.
Once a trade has been completed by visiting the country, the player collects the flag of that country.
Of course, it's not quite as simple as that - events will conspire to make you have to change your route.
The playing pieces are coloured metal steam ships and the game board features a lovely period map of the world, and including the countries of the British Commonwealth.
This game is now very hard to find, particularly with all of the original playing pieces and flags.
The game we currently have for sale, pictured on this page, dates from the 1930's. The game is complete and in very good condition.
