Game Description:
'Aviation' is one of the classic series of early war games first published by H.P. Gibson & Sons in the 1930's and 1940's. This very 'Second Edition' dates from the late 1920's - and is in superb condition.
Similar to it's sister games, L'Attaque and Dover Patrol, 'Aviation' is a clever game of aerial strategy which doesn't rely on dice or cards. Players start with equal forces, but the set up distribution of these forces is known only to the 'owning' player.
The object of the game is to land one of your troop carrying aeroplanes in your opponent's aerodrome.
The 'Aviation' game that we have for sale, pictured on this page, is a very rare original 1920's edition, which feature bi-plane fighters and bombers, Zeppelins and some superb period graphics on the box and the playing pieces.
The game is 100% original and complete, including the original rules and tin stands. Apart from some relatively minor wear to one corner of the box lid (a 3cm strip is missing from the side of one end of the lid), the game is in superb condition throughout. The game looks as though it has never been used and is without doubt the finset example of this edition we have seen.
It is a rare opportunity to own a classic early 20th century war game in exceptional condition.
